Safeguarding Our Children

As always, a key priority is to ensure the safety of the child by promoting regular attendance at school

“If a child is not in school, where are they? And what are we going to do about it?”

Education Welfare Ltd provides professional advice, guidance and operational support regarding pupil welfare and safeguarding. During our initial assessment, we work with parents and carers to identify areas of need and signpost accordingly.

We support parental engagement in the Early Help process and where appropriate will attend strategy, child protection and core group meetings with a focus on improving attendance.

Our experience tells us that deterioration in attendance, punctuality and behaviour can be a very early warning sign that there may be difficulties in a family… perhaps not sufficient enough to promote social care involvement but certainly enough to warrant investigation and support.
